Known seperately as Aluna Francis and George Reid, this duo actually met through the internet. Their mutual respect for each other’s work led them to form AlunaGeorge. If there was ever a name to look out for in 2013, it’s theirs. The dance pop duo has had a fantastic 2012 and things are set to get even better in the new year.
This year they completed a sold out UK tour and even performed for Mochino during London Fashion Week. Having racked up over 2 million hits across YouTube and Vevo, this band have had huge support from the likes of Radio 1, 1Xtra and 6Music. From Pitchfork to Fake DIY, they were the most blogged about artist of 2012. It is not surpising after all this success that they were nominated for Best Newcomer at The MOBOs 2012.
If you’re lucky enough to have a ticket to Disclosure‘s London show tonight (Thursday 6th December 2012) you can catch the duo supporting them, on stage at 8pm.
Not a lot is know about AlunaGeorge’s plans for 2013 yet, though it is sure to be filled with even more success and great pop music.
