With The Ataris being one of my all time favourite bands I jumped at the chance to interview main man Kris Roe at their recent show at the White Rabbit, Plymouth.
Formed in 1995, punk rock band The Ataris have always held a special place in fans hearts with their heartfelt lyrics and dedication to their fans. Having released 5 studio albums on independent and major labels, toured the world, been through a ton of band members and battled personal turmoil this is a band that has continued to battle on and do whatever it takes to do what they love and give the fans the show they deserve.
With a 5 year gap since their last UK visit and their last studio album ‘Welcome The Night’ (2007) splitting fans opinions I was interested to see what the future holds and where the band are heading next. We discuss the latest EP ‘Graveyard Of The Atlantic’, talk about the last year’s drummer incident, find out more about his work with Bill Stevenson (The Descendants) on Bill’s side-project Higley and find out once and for all what happened when he met Clare Danes of ‘My So Called Life’. All this and more in our exclusive interview.
