After releasing their debut album ‘Vices’ back in June 2011 it looked like things were heading upwards for Newport band Save Your Breath. They secured support slots with the likes of New Found Glory and Kids In Glass Houses as well as playing Reading and Leeds festivals.
Sadly just before their tour at the beginning of the year alongside Man Overboard and The Story So Far their guitarist Adam Parslow told the band he was leaving. Only a few weeks later drummer Bobby also said he no longer wanted to be in the band. Although this was hard for the band to take Save Your Breath decided to get their heads down and carry on. The result of this is their forthcoming EP release entitled ‘Recover’. The EP is being release through City of Gold records on 19th November.
“We didn’t know what was going to come out,” confesses bassist Ben Griffiths, “it was a new experience and a new way of writing with new members. The sole intention was to show we’re still here and we won’t give up. The new songs are a lot more personal and the feeling around everything is different. It was either a case of moving forwards or looking backwards.”
The newly formed Save Your Breath embarked on their first tour together across Europe last month and are also set to support A Loss For Words this October. So if you can catch the band at one of the shows!
