We had a chat with Nottingham based four piece Lacey after their set at last months Hit The Deck. Check out what happened right here.
HTF: Hit The Deck was a local hometown show for you guys. Did that make it more nerve wracking or exciting?
Lacey: Definitely More exciting! Nottingham always deliver, always energetic and singing along with us. There’s nothing like playing a hometown show.
HTF: Did you hang around all day and catch other bands?
L: Yeah, we made the most of it. We caught our tour brothers People On Vacation and Patent Pending who both destroyed the stage! Kids In Glass Houses were incredible, we’re all a bit gutted they are splitting up so it was great to catch their set.
HTF: How was the reaction to your set?
L: It was insane. We had a great turn out and everyone was getting in to it. We played quote a few new songs and the crowd all loved them so that was a good feeling.
HTF: After Hit The Deck you’re heading on tour with Patent Pending and People On Vacation. How have you prepared for the tour?
L: Practice, practice, practice! We had a lot of rehearsals, we wanted to ensure we were giving the fans the best show we could possibly do. We are really happy with the set and a day into tour the feedback from everyone has been insane.
HTF: Jaret Reddick personally asked you guys out on the tour. How did it feel to be asked?
L: Jaret and the Patent Pending guys spoke with us backstage at the Nottingham date of the Bowling For Soup Farewell tour we obviously said yes straight away! We are so grateful to them all for inviting us on this tour. We thank you every day!
HTF: Your debut album is set to come out this year. Have you finished recording it yet?
L: Not just yet. We have recorded about 50% and are due back into the studio in June to lay down down more tracks. Everything so far is sounding massive!
HTF: What does the rest of 2014 have in store for Lacey?
L: Finalising the album is number one priority. Once we have finished it we will be heading back out on tour.
