HTF were lucky enough to catch up with Ghost and Josh from Motionless In White before their show with Asking Alexandria in Birmingham.
HTF: Hi guys, so how are you today?
Ghost: Good thanks.
HTF: So it’s nearing the end of tour now how has it gone?
Josh: Err good and bad. We love it but we can’t wait to get home obviously.
HTF: So how was Europe?
J: Well the UK has been like a lot easier because it’s more familiar but really it’s been great like every show has been packed so it’s been awesome. No complaints.
HTF: So how do you find touring here compared to back home?
G: Sometimes you like look at a crowd and more than half of them just don’t know what’s going on so it’s like exposure to new people.
J: Sometimes we don’t know if they’re actually here for us or not.
HTF: Do you quite like being the support band like now? Or did you prefer your last tour when you headlined?
J: We still really like this tour and it’s been a good one but everyone likes headlining a lot more.
HTF: Do you prefer playing the bigger venues like you are now? Or the smaller ones?
J: Ah no, the big ones are awesome but it is nice sometimes to be like really close to the crowd.
HTF: Do you play venues that sort of size back home? Like here, you played Brixton.
J: Not really only festivals.
HTF: Your latest album ‘Infamous’ came out about 6 months ago. HTF gave it a 9/10, have you found the rest of the feedback quite postitive?
G: Thanks! For the most part yeah it’s been positive and people who don’t really share the same ideas we don’t really care about. We already know we are writing the music we enjoy so that’s all that matters.
HTF: You’re playing Download festival this year is it the first time you’ll be playing?
J: Yes.
HTF: Are you excited?
J: Yes. It’s such a big deal.
HTF: Do you think you’ll hang around the whole weekend?
G: We’re not sure.
J: I think we will cause I think the Kerrang! awards are around then but yeah we don’t really know yet it’s a little early. But hopefully.
HTF: If you do will you hang around and see all the other bands?
G: Yes!
HTF: There are 3 other bands on this tour now do you guys hang out with each other much?
J: Well like sometimes we’re in the same dressing room and stuff so you kind of haave to. But this tour has been cool but sometimes you just like to do your own thing.
HTF: Is there like any rivalry between the bands with sets?
G: No not really.
Finally what are your plans for 2013?
J: We have a lot of stuff pretty much till the end of the summer that we can’t really say yet. Lot’s of touring.
HTF: More releases?
G: The band writes music all the time. When we’re on tour we’re writing. When we’re at home we’re writing.
HTF: Thanks for chatting to us. Good luck with the show tonight.
J: Thanks.
