Scotland have had a number of fantastic rock bands recently, Biffy Clyro, Twin Atlantic and Mogwai to name just a few. Now a new contender has come forwards to try and claim a piece of the scotch pie, in Divides.
Hailing from Glasgow, Divides are very reminiscent to that of their Glaswegian counterparts, Twin Atlantic, the fast paced riffs, the powerful chorus’, and I for one have a soft spot for anyone who has the ability to actually sing in their local accent. Something which lead vocalist Tasha Cowie does fantastically.
Divides only full formed in mid-September 2013 and have already come out with a single and an accompanying video. ‘Not All Those Who Wander Are Lost‘, is a fantastic window into what Divides are going to become. It is at its core a true rock track, yet with a little more atmosphere and enough sing-along accompaniment with it to become an instantly recognisable track.
Watch out for this band as they’re about to make big strides in the music industry with upcoming tour dates in the works as well as a debut EP.
