Taiwanese metallers Chthonic have brought the lyrics from their past albums to life with an illustrated book, titled Unsealing the Bú-Tik. Six artists from Yamyoukan, a famous Taiwanese illustration group, and the band members themselves have all contributed to the 32-page book, which artistically portrays their lyrical stories — including the final battle at Sing Ling Temple from ‘Takasago Army’ (2011) and ‘Mirror of Retribution’ (2009).
Talking about Unsealing the Bú-Tik, Chthonic drummer and comic enthusiast Dani has said “I’m really grateful that Yamyoukan invited us to take part in the drawing process, so that I could pick up the drawing pen again. It’s always been a passion of mine…”. Bassist Doris then added “It has always been our dream to turn the stories behind our music into images; I feel so moved as I hold this illustrated book in my hand…”
The book is available to order now from here.
Chthonic’s lastest album ‘Bu-Tik’ is also available now through Spinefarm Records.
