Rock A-Z: D is for The Defiled

Hitting week 4 we bring you D in our Rock A-Z. Unless you’ve been living under a tree you’ll know about The Defiled, check out why we love them here!

Our Rock A-Z has now reached the letter D, and this is going to be your new favourite letter in the alphabet because of this very band… The Defiled. Self releasing their sophomore debut full- length, Grave Times, in the year of 2011, the industrial metal frenzy of Stitch D, The AvD, Aaron Curse, Vincent Hyde and Needles have since found themselves rocking out at some of the UK’s largest open air metal festivals including Sonisphere, Download and Bloodstock.

With a growing reputation in the UK underground metal scene, the band have taken to new heights, headlining tours to thousands of eager attendees and even selling out shows throughout the country. The quintet also found themselves crossing the Atlantic to pay a visit to our friends in the states for their annual SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas. Not to mention the fact that the band have also appeared on ITV2’s hit TV show, The Exclusives, and snatched up the Best New Band Award at the coveted Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards.  All in a years work for The Defiled, and now in the year 2013, the band recently dropped their brand new studio effort on August 5th entitled, Daggers. Recorded by the legendary Jason Suecof, Daggers is everything it was expected to be; an exceptional contender for metal album of the year, and what excites us even more, is Daggers is only this bands second full- length release.
