Following last weekend’s Sonisphere Festival at Knebworth House, organisers and Hertfordshire Police are pleading festival attendees to provide any known information after 21-year-old George Cook was attacked on site.
The attack reportedly took place on Friday 4th July in Red 2 Camping, where the young man was assaulted by three men where he was then taken to St George’s Hospital in Tooting to undergo surgery after receiving several injuries.
Sonisphere’s Festival Director Zac Fox said to NME of the attack: ‘We were really shocked by what happened to George as the rock and metal audience are by far the best behaved and friendliest that we work with, as demonstrated by all the messages of support that our audience have sent to him. We are doing what we can to help the police with their investigation. We were delighted to hear from his father that he is already making such a good recovery and we look forward to rolling out the red carpet for him if he wants to come along to the next Sonisphere.’
Any person(s) who know any information about this attack should contact Hertfordshire Police as soon as possible, quoting crime reference G1/14/1678.
