Reigning X Factor winner Sam Bailey has announced the title for her upcoming debut album.
The belting songstress has revealed that the album will be called ‘The Power Of Love’, and that it will be released on 24 March.
It is reported to consist of a mix of original and cover songs.
The news comes after Bailey opened the National Television Awards earlier this week and performed her rendition of Jennifer Rush‘s ‘The Power Of Love’, which Bailey covered during the X Factor live shows.
Michael Bolton has hinted that he may record a duet with the singer for her album, and praised her “heartfelt” abilities: “The only thing more important than a great instrument is the ability to put your heart into that instrument,” he said. “That’s what resonates with people, that’s what moves human beings and she has that combination.”
Bailey has said that she intends to do things differently on her album. “I want to do some songs that people haven’t heard in a while, and bring back some stuff that people probably haven’t even heard of, so that it feels like a new song.”
“I’m going to try and do some stuff of my own and get some songs out there that are originals.””
Sam Bailey‘s X Factor winners single, a cover of Demi Lovato‘s ‘Skyscraper’, became the 2013 Christmas number one.
