Following a video upload of two One Direction members smoking weed there has been a 79% surge in resales for their UK tour.
Earlier this week, a video surfaced showing members Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson smoking marijuana, furthering their image away from the lads who auditioned for The X Factor back in 2010.
A spokesperson for online ticket retailer Viagogo confirmed the increase of ticket resales and added: “The boys are considered role models, but the question is whether this latest controversy will affect the boyband’s squeaky clean image, as fans – and their parents alike – turn to reselling their tickets.
On a recent gig at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light both Malik and Tomlinson thanked their fans despite the recent revelation: “I want to say a massive thank you to fans and you guys for putting us here tonight.”
