The singer and former Spice Girl has admitted that she misses recording music and that she endeavours to release a new solo album in the near future.
She told the Metro this week: “I’ve missed working as a solo artist and miss my band so I want to work on a new album“.
The star already has six solo albums, the first being 1999’s Northern Star, the most recent being 2012’s Stages.
This year Melanie turns 40 and is celebrating by performing to a sold-out Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London on January 12th.
She also said of her career: “I’ve always been ambitious and was lucky enough to enjoy massive success with the Spice Girls. But when you have that sort of success, you feel you have to be your absolute best to deserve it. Sometimes it can be a burden. It’s nice to be more relaxed.”
Keep your eyes peeled for her triumphant return!
