Lily Allen has returned with a brand new single wrapped in controversy. Following on from her mild-mannered cover of Keane’s ‘Somewhere Only We Know’, new track ‘Hard Out Here’ bites back at the objectification of women within the industry.
However it is not the English artists sarcastic wit that has landed her in the critics bad books, it is the music video which features black backing dancers twerking which has seen her labelled as racist.
Lily took to twitter to defend herself, she said: “If I could dance like the ladies can, it would have been my arse on your screens; I actually rehearsed for two weeks trying to perfect my twerk but failed miserably.”
