Katy Perry has received the highest number of MTV EMA nominations for this year’s awards.
The singer is up for a total of seven gongs, including Best Female, Best Video, Best Look, Best US Act, Best Song, Best Live and Best Pop. However, she will have to fight off stiff competition from the likes of 5 Seconds of Summer, Miley Cyrus and One Direction to take the crown.
Ariana Grande is also hot on the heels of Katy, with a respectable six nominations.
The 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards will take place in Glasgow, Scotland on 9 November, with voting closing on the 8 November.
