James Arthur has reportedly been dropped by Simon Cowell‘s record label Syco, due to controversy surrounding his new song from his All The World’s A Stage rap mixtape.
According to The Sun on Sunday, the decision to fire him comes after the X Factor winner’s latest song titled ‘Follow the Leader‘ includes the lyrics: “Look at what you do to me, I’m crying over stupid s***, you’re such a f***ing homophobe, wish I’d never let you in, to think that I was thinking maybe I should let you live, I’m gonna blow up your family like I’m a terrorist.”
James took to Twitter to defend his track: “The song “follow the leader” from the mixtape is not promoting terrorism, it’s a story, a reciting of a Stan Esc letter from a demented fan.”
The terrorism comment is the latest outburst from the 26-year-old singer who has previously caused controversy with his homophobic lyrics fuelling a row between him and Lucy Spraggan, and more recently compared himself to the ‘Blackfish‘ killer whale.
