It’s been happening a lot over the years at varying rates of success. Boy bands of the past, crawling out of the woodwork for another chance at the big time, this time as ‘Man Bands’. Take That did it, releasing new, critically acclaimed no 1 albums, selling out Wembley Stadium, becoming bigger than they ever were. East 17 also tried it, that one sadly crashed and burned quicker than it started. Next up it seems is Five.
You remember Five right? The bad boys of UK pop in the late nineties. Well they are back only this time there are four of them and earlier this month they played the V Festival on the Arena Stage to a rabid crowd. This has spurred the band on and they want back next year, though this time they feel they belong with the big boys on the main stage.
Member Scott Robinson had this to say to the Daily Star –
“In Staffordshire people said we should have been on the main stage and at Chelmsford they said it even more….. I’t wasn’t raining, it wasn’t a rain crowd, it was nice and sunny and the tent was full.”
Five are now hitting the road as their comeback trail continues. It kicks off this november, with dates all over the UK.
