Cleo Sol released her debut single ‘Never The Right Time’ yesterday (June 18th).
Cleo who comes from a musical background, has been singing for family and friends for years, but after posting a few tracks on MySpace she was eventually given her big break after she was spotted by veteran underground producer Davinche. She has already worked with some impressive names on the UK Urban scene and has been feature on many tracks including Tinie Tempah’s ‘Tears’, Wretch 32’s ‘Dancefloor’, Bashy‘s ‘Riding for Love’ and of course Davinche’s ‘Hero’. Cleo released some promo tracks in 2011, which were heavily supported from BBC Radio 1 and in December 2011 her career progressed further when she was signed to Island Records.
‘Never The Right Time’ is a very addictive track that is full of soul and also has a 70s vibe to it. Cleo has a stunning voice, is extremely confident and really passionate about her music. She’s got the whole pop-star package going on, with people even comparing her to Beyoncé!
Cleo also isn’t afraid of being different as she stands out with her retro style. She says: “If all else fails, it’s all about the big hair and big earrings”.
