The Arcade Fire singer has let it be known that he has been suffering with a few wardrobe teething problems on their recent tour rehearsals.
Win Butler kept falling off stage whilst practicing in their papier-mâché heads, that the band are using during their current Reflektor tour. “It’s tough. You really have to know what you’re doing because you can only see through the nose holes.” He went on to say that he fell off stage while practicing. “I did in a rehearsal but I’ve figured it out now – the hard way. You can’t move around too much,” he told to the BBC.
So far the band have managed to keep it together without any fatalities. But good luck to anyone who is braving the front row when the Canadian band play London’s Earls Court this weekend.
Butler also defended the casting of Spider-Man actor Andrew Garfield in their trans gender video for ‘We Exist‘ . “We didn’t really see Andrew’s character as being a fully transitioned-to-woman character, so it wasn’t on our radar to cast someone who’d transitioned to a woman to play the character. But the point of the video was to generate debate and for people to talk about these issues. So for me, it was really a success.”
Tickets for the Earls Court shows on June 6th and 7th are sold out. There are limited tickets available here for the BST Hyde Park show on July 3rd.
