It’s not been a great few months in Morrissey world lately, after the remainder of the North American Tour being called off due to the sickness he blamed on his support act, Morrissey has now appeared to criticise his record label amongst other things.
The Smiths frontman took to the fansite, True To You, and posted this statement thanking three fans for the videos they created for the album World Peace Is None Of Your Business. However he then took a swipe at his record label Havert Records by posting the following:
“A similar document ought to have been harvested by the record label, but please understand that the pop or rock industry can be as dedicated to perpetuating public deception as the world of politics itself.”
Other notable people slammed in the statement are George W Bush, Tony Blair and the Royal Family.
Morrissey goes on to state that there has been an apparent lack of interest from the media surrounding the new album, in which he posted:
“In answer to many people who have asked, I should like to finally make it clear that I have not received any television invitations – worldwide! – to either discuss World peace is none of your business, or even to sing any songs from the album.”
The Album is currently available to download from iTunes and the first concert which will be based on the album is due to be held in Portugal in October.
