Rock legends led Zeppelin may have even more gems left in their vault. They are releasing over three discs of unheard music for the deluxe editions of their first three albums, out next month. Guitar God Jimmy Page, says that they still have enough material for future compilations.
“There’s certainly more things that can be done,” Page told Rolling Stone. “But these reissues took a lot of time, and I don’t want to start proposing another project, because it’ll take me another six months or a year. I’d rather spend time practicing my guitar and going out to play.”
He would prefer the next unreleased work to be tracks that the hardcore fans haven’t already heard on the numerous bootlegs that have been released over the years. “I was pretty diligent with my detection work,” he said. “I asked a guy that runs one of the fanzines if he’d heard any of this material before, and he told me hadn’t. That was a good feeling.”
The deluxe versions of Led Zeppelin, Led Zeppelin II and Led Zeppelin III are out on June 2nd. These albums are the blueprint for most modern rock, bands like The White Stripes, The Black Keys and The Foo Fighters all owe a huge debt to their music.
