According to online festival rumour mill eFestivals, it is ‘almost certain’ that Kasabian will be headlining the Pyramid Stage at June’s Glastonbury Festival.
Despite Michael Eavis’s assertion that the headliners would not have played at the festival before, the announcement that Arcade Fire will be headlining has blown that notion out of the water.
Despite having appeared four times before, the band themselves gave nothing away as to any chances of headlining, with front man Tom Meighan stating in a recent Q Magazine interview: “I’ve had not phone call yet so I can’t say anything, but I love that festival”.
Speculation and uncertainty around the remaining two headline slots continue unabated.
Kasabian’s fifth album is scheduled for release in June, and they will be appearing at a special 10th anniversary show June 21st at Leicester’s Victoria Park.
