Jake Bugg Announces Second Album ‘Shangri La’ & Unveils New Single (Watch)

Jake bugg has announced that his second album, ‘Shangri La’ will be released on November 18.

The album was produced by Rick Rubin in his very own studio in Malibu: ‘Shangri La’, which was the reason for Bugg’s choice of album title.

The album features Jason Lader on bass, Pete Thomas [The Attractions] on drums and Matt Sweeney on guitar.

Speaking to BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe, Bugg explained how the album was tracked live: Bugg explained that it was tracked live. “I think you capture a bit of magic doing that, something you can’t explain,” said Bugg. He also spoke about how swiftly the release of ‘Shangri La’ came after his debut: “It came quick but, for me, music’s what I do to get away from stuff… Even though its been crazy, when I have time to myself, it’s me picking up my guitar… I travelled lots and had some crazy experiences, so I had a lot to write about!”

On the choice of naming the album after Rubin’s studio, Bugg said:  “It feels like its cut away from civilization.” He added that it “felt right” to name the album after the studio.”
