The forthcoming album will be the band’s eighth studio release and is due for release on November 10th. To mark this, the band has visited eight different cities around the US and recorded one song of the eight tracks in each.
The vinyl release for “Sonic Highways; will come with a variety of nine different covers which will include eight themed covers of the different cities they recorded in: Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles, Nashville, New Orleans, New York, Seattle, and Washington, DC.
Dave Grohl, frontman of Foo Fighters has been quoted saying that the new album is “instantly recognisable as a Foo Fighters record, but there’s something deeper and more musical to it.” He goes on to say that the recording in all the differing cities and the people that have influenced the album have let the band “explore new territory” without losing “their sound”.
