Welcome to the world of fantasy albums where music fans are put to the test to decipher their ultimate album. Last time Menswe@r’s Johnny Dean revealed his fantasy album tracklisting. This week’s fantasy album comes from Scottish art-pop favourites A Band Called Quinn’s singer Louise Quinn – entitled I Know Where I’m Going ?
The rules are simple(ish): they can’t repeat an artist, and to just make it that little bit more interesting – they have to use the same track number from another album i.e track 1 could be the opening track of the wonderful Stone Roses’ debut ‘I Wanna Be Adored‘. Track 2 could be Blur’s ‘Song 2‘. You get the idea.
Let’s take a listen to Louise’s I Know Where I’m Going?
1. ‘Running Up That Hill’ – Kate Bush
Straight out of the traps this is a great opener for an album; full of intent & drama. Climb on board – Kate’s gonna take you on a ride!

2. ‘Satellite Of Love’ – Lou Reed
Now we’re hooked in Lou keeps us on the right road & continues the journey with a lyrical piano intro & some serious brass.

3. ‘Get Free’ – Major Lazer
Now we’re ready to sit down & empathise with Amber from the Dirty Projectors & go in deeper with some trippy production & beats.

4. ‘Like A Motorway’ – St Etienne (Chemical Brothers Remix)
Okay – time to wake up before you zone out too much & maybe get up on your feet & have a dance if you feel like it! I’ve cheated a wee bit here as it’s a remix of the St Etienne album track but I love the ‘90’s rush it gives me!

5. ‘Always Crashing In The Same Car’ – David Bowie
This would probably be track one of side two on vinyl so you’ll have had a chance to settle down & get down to some serious listening & appreciate that incredible Tony Visconti co-production.

6. ‘Atmosphere’ – Joy Division
Ready for a bit of redemption & euphoria now after David. This track makes your heart swell.

7. ‘Isobel’ – Bjork
Bjork reintroduces an otherworldly earthiness with a snaking ‘Jungle Line’ style beat & filmic strings.

8. ‘Some Candy Talking’ – The Jesus & Mary Chain
East Kilbride’s finest take us closer again to the concrete underpasses & new town roundabouts. But definitely accompanied by a bottle of sweet sweet Buckfast.

9. ‘Duchess’ – The Stranglers
We might be down in the sewers now but at least we’re looking at the stars! Time to party with some amazing arpeggios from Dave Greenfield.

10. ‘The Last Time I Saw Richard’ – Joni Mitchell
Wow..that was fun! But like all good things my fantasy album has to come to an end. Time to spend some time with Joni, who’s gonna tell it like it is.

An eclectic mix from Louise and the second appearance from Bowie, who is bound to feature on many peoples selections.
