Last night saw the Brewery in Clerkenwell play host the second annual AIM Independent Music Awards, hosted by Radio 1 DJs Steve Lamacq and Huw Stephens and featured performances from Frankie and the Heartstrings, Big Deal and Land Observations.
Alison Wenham, CEO of AIM had this is say on the award show: “Our second awards has marked a stellar year for the independent sector – congratulations to all the nominees and winners! This list of winners is like no other, and truly reflects the breadth of talent and diversity in the independent sector. A fantastic night was had by all, and we look forward to celebrating further success for the independents in 2013.”
Rock acts, The Prodigy and Enter Shikari were among some of the winners of the evening along with indie act Alt-J, 65daysofstatic and Bond songstress Adele. However, it wasn’t just artists who received high recognition last night – independent labels Black Butter Records and 4AD as well as LeeFest all received recognition for their hard work within their sector.
