We caught up with the amazing Jacob Criborn and Leonard Scheija, who make up the duo Nause, on the midst of their release of their current single ‘Head Over Heels’, which follows a custom-made Taxi 455 cab and gives the general public a chance to ride with the music just thumping and pounding.

HTF: Hey guys! Thanks for chatting to us. How has your day been so far?

NAUSE: HEEEEY! Thanks for having us! So far so good, we’re 30,000 feet in the air right now, heading from San Diego to Calgary!

HTF: So we have just watched your video for ‘Head Over Heels’ and we love it. Where did the idea for the video come from?

N: Glad you like it! It’s always fun to include the people that the song is going out to, and to have the chance to give them an exclusive listening. So we thought it would be fun to drive them wherever they want during the track length! And of course having it all on film! ☺

HTF: Have you ever had any crazy experiences in a taxi?

N: A taxi is the easiest way to loose things we’ve come to understand. Phones and stuff have a way of disappearing between seats. Other than that it can be fun to go through the receipts from 4:35 AM when the much more sober driver took a few wrong turns just to earn some extra cash!

HTF: It is an honour to be nominated for a Grammy, not once but twice! Can we say that ‘Head Over Heels’ will be a follow up to another hopeful nomination?

N: Everything over being able to work with music is a plus. Being nominated just gives you a super boost to keep going and do what you think is good! ‘Head Over Heels’ is a bit different from the stuff we’ve done before, so it’ll be fun to see what people think of it!

HTF: You are currently touring with the beautiful Rebecca and Fiona over in the States. How are you finding the reaction?

N: We work really well together with Rebecca & Fiona on a personal level, but also music wise! We’re loving it here in the US, and every night has been amazing in different ways. It’s an honour to be able to see all the different places!

HTF: You’ll be at Marquee on May 9th in Las Vegas, what do you guys love most about performing in Vegas? Are you going to get the chance to hopefully enjoy it?

N: We’ve done shows at Marquee twice before, both the beach club and the nightclub. Vegas is something else, I’m guessing there’s a lot of people in just for a few days, going all in, which we LOVE! (Also a plus is of course that we enjoy a bit of gambling) ☺

HTF: You have a pretty busy schedule, are you looking forward to a bit of R&R soon or is there just a drive to continue and make great music?

N: Being home working in the studio is considered a vacation for us! That’s the beauty of working with something you love.

HTF: Which out of the two of you prefers the limelight, or do the both of you relish it?

N: Hmm, we both like performing the music that we like, we both like the nightclub scene. I don’t think either one of us is that shy!

HTF: And finally, you have released a number of singles over the years but still no sign of an album? Are we likely to see this soon? Why the delay?

N: We like the fact that nowadays you don’t really need to do an album. We like the idea of working on a track and giving it everything instead of making 13 tracks just to do an album. Of course we have about a million projects started which might be album material in due time. But for now, we’re happy with giving focus on a few more select projects!

HTF: It’s been quite an honour to interview you both and hopefully once your tour is complete the both of you will be able to get some well deserved rest! :)

N: Thanks for talking with us! ☺
