This is a paid for partnership by Magners
If there is one thing I have learnt in my time writing about and performing music – fun fact: I was actually in a band for 8 years – it’s that the best thing anyone can do, is to be themselves. As the music world slowly clones itself, and we sadly end up finding it difficult to identify one band or artists track from the next, we have to always remember that the ones that really stand out from the pack and last the test of time, are usually those who stay true to themselves. There is a fine line between inspiration and imitation and its something people need to be aware of. What would you rather be known for? Being you….or imitating them?
With so much pressure seemingly on artists to pander to the mainstream or be a certain way, Magners new ‘Hold True’ campaign looks to celebrate those who remain true to themselves.
Teaming up will an electric mix of artists, they set each the task to perform their own version of The Rolling Stones classic, ‘I’m Free To Do What I Want’; and the video below is the result.
From the 66 year-old punk pogoing like his life depends on it, to the harp player serenading skaters, each of these artists are doing what they do because they truly love it. It’s not about what’s popular, what’s going to sell or what the public want, but about who they are and what they enjoy. I’m sure we have all heard the saying “If you’re having a good time then the audience will have a good time”; these are perfect examples.
The music industry isn’t really about money and fame, it’s about doing the thing you love so let’s see more of the real YOU and show us what makes you stand out from the rest. #HoldTrue
