Underwater & In A Mental Hospital – Are These The Weirdest Gigs Ever?

Warning: this list will make your next gig seem really boring!

Let us introduce you to AquaSonic; a band hailing from Denmark who prefers to play their music underwater. Oxygen is like, so two thousand and late, didn’t you know? The five-piece much prefer playing their instruments and singing whilst totally submerged in glass water tanks for all to see. The result is pretty mind blowing. Watch them performing ‘Breaking The Surface’ above to see for yourself! We can’t decide whether it sounds relaxing or creepy.

All this got us thinking, where are the weirdest locations artists have played gigs? We did some research and below are some of the craziest things we’ve found!

Katie Melua Has Also Performed Underwater… Sort Of?

It may be possible that AquaSonic took inspiration for their set up from Katie Melua, who performed 303 metres below sea level back in 2006. Although technically she wasn’t submerged underwater and actually just on a Norwegian oil rig, it’s still quite impressive. Random, but impressive.
