Vernon Kay has said that he would be an ‘idiot’ if he was to turn down Strictly Come Dancing.
The Family Fortunes presenter has said that he would not turn down the opportunity to work with wife Tess Daly and co-host “the most successful show on British television at the moment”.
“What idiot is going to turn around and say, ‘You know what, I do not want to host a Saturday night BBC primetime show that averages 11.5million viewers a week.’”
“It would be great to work with Tess again,” he agrees. “It’s such a good laugh – the relationship on screen is exactly the same as it is at home”.
Bruce Forsyth announced earlier this year that he was stepping down as host of the BBC1 show and names have been lined up to replace him. The favourite is Claudia Winkleman who Vernon Kay says should be picked. Judge Bruno Tonioli has already said that Winkleman is his preferred choice.
