Tennis legend Roger Federer is a guy who is always up for a challenge. Back in October 2013, he decided to put a message out to all his followers on twitter to ask an interesting question…
“If you could watch me play any other athlete in any other sport (other than our own sport), what sport and what athlete? #AskedRF”
Little did he know that among the replies World Cup alpine ski racer, Lindsey Vonn, would reply to issue up a challenge to the tennis star; that being that she would ski with him if she could play tennis with him. While this challenge never happened, they soon formed a close friendship and now Roger has decided to answer back with a challenge of his own.
Showing Lindsey a drawing of them both up a mountain on Skype recently, the new challenge was set; a tennis match on top of the Jungfraujoch. Almost a combination of Tennis and Ski’ing, just without the skis!
The Jungfraujoch is on the Aletsch glacier, backdropped by the beautiful Bernese Alps, and known as ‘The Top Of Europe’. This is also the home of chocolatiers Lindt’s newest, and highest store, being a massive 3,454m above sea level; #chocolateheaven
