The Twi-Hard community came out in full swing at this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego. With their chance to see Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and the rest of the Twilight crew up close and personal, the roof of Hall H was practically falling apart due to the amount of screaming that occurred. However, after the stars left the stage, novelist Stephenie Meyer asked the tweens to stay seated as she had a treat for them; a preview of the up and coming film based on her novel The Host!
According to Empire Magazine, director Andrew Niccol stood at the podium to start off a montage of footage put together exclusively for Comic-Con.
The Host sees Saoirse Ronan’s character Melanie Stryder living in an apocalyptic world where alien souls have taken over the human race by removing their original conscious. Melanie and her brother have been on the run for two years before she is captured and her body is given to another soul. Melanie, unlike the rest of the population, is a strong woman and does not let Wanderer (the soul that has taken her body) go down without a fight! Not the most original of ideas but still powerful nonetheless!
The footage shown at Comic-Con was a montage of lots of different action scenes, which saw Ronan jumping out of windows and fighting against the empire, along with a quick insight into William Hurt’s portrayal of Jeb Stryder and Max Iron’s Jared Howe.
The Host will arrive on our cinema screens March 29th 2013, but until then try to not let any alien souls take over your body!
