Has a politician finally done something right?! George Osborne might be setting a trend as the Chancellor of the Exchequer himself has brokered the deal to have Star Wars Episode VII filmed in the UK. He announced today that because of generous tax breaks, Disney plan to make the film on British soil.
The Film, that is to be directed by J.J. Abrams from a script penned by ‘Little Miss Sunshine’ writer Michael Arndt, is following in the footsteps of the other 6 before it by having scenes shot in UK studios.
Rumor has it that the newest edition to the franchise will be filmed at Pinewood studios. The home of various productions ranging from BBC One’s comedy quiz show ‘Would I Lie To You’ all the way to Hollywood blockbuster ‘Fast and Furious 6’. This is all great news for the British film industry and Osborne himself, admitting to being a ‘Star Wars’ fan saying his favourite character is Han Solo.
