Source: Game of ThronesMary Shelley, the author of Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus, will be the subject of a brand new biopic and Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner is set for the main role.
Shelley, who published the popular work when she was just 20 years old, will be played by Turner in Mary Shelley’s Monster while the poet Percy Shelley, her lover and eventual husband, will be played by Jeremy Irvine (War Horse, Now Is Good).
Talking about the film, producer Rose Ganguzza described the tale as “the story of the most extraordinary 19th century teenage heroine told in a visceral, sexy, contemporary way.”
“Our film is not a period drama,” she went on to say. “It is a story of youth that transcends time, a Gothic romance, a love triangle that involves a dark passenger and we are tremendously excited to have such an exciting cast on board this wonderful project.”
Directing Mary Shelley’s Monster will be Coky Giedroyc while Taissi Farmiga is also set to star. There is no release date for the film yet.
