The iconic child actor and diplomatic figure head, Shirley Temple, has passed away at the age of 85.
Temple died of natural causes at her home in Woodside, California were she was surrounded by her family and loved ones as this official statement reads:
“She was surrounded by her family and caregivers. We salute her for a life of remarkable achievements as an actor, as a diplomat, and… our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.”
The actor enjoyed a lustrous Hollywood career until the 1950’s- were she is best known for her appearances in A Little Princess, Bright Eyes and Curly Top– when she retired from film and some years later, entered into the world of politics as an avid international diplomat.
Temple was nominated as the 18th most legendary female film star ever by the American Film Institute.
