British horror ‘In Fear’ is to have its release date postponed. The film, which was showcased at this year’s Sundance film festival, will now not be coming out until the wintertime. ‘In Fear’ is the directorial debut of Jeremy Lovering. The film centers around two festival goers making their way through the English countryside for their weekend away. Only to find themselves hopelessly lost in the pitch black woods while being preyed upon by a lone tormentor.
With a somewhat unique Britishness of having many of its main cast and crew as new comers to the stage, it’s hard to predict whether this film will be good or bad. What we can say is that in charge of everything is Producer Nira Park. A long serving colleague of British film favourite Edgar Wright, Park has worked with the director from the beginning; on everything from ‘Spaced’ to his latest feature ‘The World’s End’. Her experience and success in British film making will surely lead the production in the right direction.
Lovering has also been around for a while. Although unknown to the public and this being his first feature, He has worked on some very high profile gigs. The relative unknown has directed episodes of BBC dramas ‘Spooks’ and ‘Sherlock’. Shows that have both won the best drama series BAFTA award. He was also the second unit director on the Edgar Wright and Nira Park film ‘Hot Fuzz’. The job that no doubt secured his position as director for ‘In Fear’
With the emergence of new talent, this is definitely a film to look our for. In a world filled with adaptions and sequels, it will be a refreshing change to have some original British work to look forward to.
