Lionsgate have finally made Sam Claflin’s involvement in Catching Fire official! The actor best known for playing Philip in Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and more recently William in Snow White And The Huntsman; will be playing the youngest ever victor of District 4; Finnick Odair.
Catching Fire will see Katniss Everdeen, Peeta Mellark and the other past victors thrust back into that fatal arena for the 75th annual Hunger Games. Along with Sam Claflin, the second instalment of Suzanne Collins famous trilogy will see the return of Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Stanley Tucci, Lenny Kravitz and Donald Sutherland as the evil President Snow. However, along with these familiar faces, we will see fresh ones in the likes of Jena Malone who will play feisty Johanna Mason and Philip Seymour Hoffman who has landed the role of the controversial Gamemaker Plutarch Heavensbee.
Director Francis Lawrence has stated he wishes to start shooting Catching Fire next month, ready for the November 22nd 2013 release date.
