Your Film Festival is a truly great initiative, and way to help growing and starving artists pursue their dreams. Ridley and Tony Scott’s production company Scott Free, in conjunction with the Venice Film Festival and YouTube, have created an online competition, where anyone can enter (submissions closed in March). It could be a short film, web-series, or even a TV Pilot. It can be of any genre, it just has to entail a great story.
Voting for the projects opened June 11th and closes on July 13th. The 10 finalists will screen their works at the Venice Film Festival where a jury will select the grand prize winner. The overall winner will receive a $500,000 grant and be given the opportunity to create a film with a team of major industry professionals aiding in the production. Gaining the most attention on the internet thus far is 88:88 a fantastic short sci-fi film. Head here to watch, vote and support!
