Screen Gems have broken the news that the planned American remake of The Raid, has been delayed until 2015.
The original Indonesian version was one of the best action films ever made and was recently followed up with a sequel earlier on this year which was arguably even better.
Given the reaction to both of them, understandably Hollywood wanted in on the action and Screen Gems set an initial date of September of this year to start filming.
However, the delay has been confirmed, pushing production back to the first quarter of 2015 and a potential release date of the end of next year.
No reason for the setback has been announced, but it is thought that the producers are looking to attract a bigger name to the cast with Luke Evans, Anthony Mackie, Frank, Grillo and Ethan Hawke all being linked to the film, but no-one officially cast yet.
