Granted the title of the film does not leave much for the imagination but we are sure it is going to knock the socks off any of those who see it with their newest casting recruit; Rachel McAdams. Along with the beautiful star, Philip Seymour Hoffman joined the cast for the adaptation of John Le Carre’s spy novel.
The narrative focuses on Issa, a refugee that has recently escaped from a Turkish prison and on the run from Swedish authorities. After arriving in Hamburg, he reveals that he has the ability to access a very private bank account that holds a very private secret. Involving British, German and American intelligence agencies, this film is a mash up between The Bourne saga and James Bond!
Hoffman has been cast as a German spook and McAdams as “a woman who becomes involved in the international intrigue” According to Empire this means that the star will be playing Annabel Richter, Issa’s lawyer.
The story derives partly from the story of Murat Kurnaz, a Turkish man living in Germany, arrested in Pakistan in 2001 and made a resident in Guantanamo Bay for five years. The role to play Issa has still not been cast but when we find out we will be sure to let you all know!
