Before we start, if you want to be surprised about what Shane Black’s Iron Man 3 has in store then you may want to stop reading now. But if your curiosity is working overtime then I suggest you should continue to read!
As suspected, Sir Ben Kingsley will be playing The Mandarin. However, the character who, in the comic books is usually portrayed as the main evil villain has actually taken a back seat in this instalment. Instead, Kingsley’s villain will be playing second to Guy Pearce’s Aldrich Killian, who is the scientist responsible for creating the Extremis project that will ultimately try to challenge Tony Stark and his Iron Man threads!
Not only does Killian create this seemingly terrifying project, along with it comes an army of super villain individuals, this is where casting additions James Badge Dale and Ashley Hamilton will be featured. The two actors will play Coldblood and Firepower, two evil individuals who get their newly develop super powers from Killian’s innovative technology.
Along with The Mandarin and Killian, the Patriot Armour will also be featured in the new film. The suit is a cross between Iron Man’s generic red and gold man suit and Captain America’s patriotic attire and normally worn by Spider-Man villain Norman Osbourne. However, because Osbourne is in cahoots with Sony, it is uncertain who will be donning the suit.
Some say that James Badge Dale’s Coldblood will be wearing the suit with pride, however, others say that the suit is not actually Iron Patriot at all and that it is Detroit Steel, another super villain in the stars and stripes from the more recent Iron Man comics!
What we do know for certain is that Robert Downey Jr and Gwyneth Paltrow are back in the latest instalment! Iron Man 3 will grace our screens May 3rd 2013!
