A new Alien movie has been confirmed, with director Neill Blomkamp (District 9, Elysium) on board and Ridley Scott to produce. Earlier this year Blomkamp caused confusion by posting artwork on his Instagram page, before confirming they were “completely unsanctioned” by 20th Century Fox and he was only working on ideas for Alien 5 “for fun”.
But now it seemed that Fox have snapped up the idea and it’s set to go ahead! This was confirmed in another Instagram by Blomkamp saying his “officially” involved with the revival of the franchise.
This project is completely separate to the upcoming Promtheus 2, which is also currently under production with Scott and Blomkamp. Sources say that the events of the Alien project will come after events of Prometheus 2.
So far, it’s reported that neither movie has a script yet.
