They’re a nostalgic bunch over at Disney Pixar! They have gladly shared the brand new teaser trailer for the prequel to their 2001’s Monsters Inc with us! After all, you didn’t think all monsters were lucky enough to get into the scaring business straight away did you? Nope, they have to graduate first! Check out below not one but TWO teaser trailers featuring young Mike and Sully going through the trials and tribulations of college life! (Just to warn you, you’re not going mad they are both exactly the same but sleeping beauty Mike does sleep talk two different things!)
So what we can gather from those two teaser trailers is that the very talented voices of Billy Crystal and John Goodman have returned for the second instalment; bringing with them that sense of nostalgia from the original film! Of course John Ratzenberger will make an appearance as The Abominable Snowman considering he has voiced a character in pretty much all of Pixar’s biggest films (Ham in Toy Story and Mac in Cars)!
Director Dan Scanlon stated the reason why there have been a number of different trailers circulating the internet was because Billy Crystal just couldn’t stop spitting out those hilarious one liners! The director said, “Billy Crystal‘s an amazing comedic actor, he gave us so much fun material; we decided to cut four slightly different versions of the trailer. We are so happy to have him back as Mike”.
Unfortunately, we will have to wait another year before the prequel hits our UK screens, but we are positive that Pixar will release lots more teaser trailers! Even if they do only differ with one line!
