Source: Bad BoysA second sequel to the Michael Bay-directed Bad Boys is actually in the works and happening according to Martin Lawrence, one half of the franchise’s star duo.
In an interview with Conan O’Brien on The Conan O’Brien Show, Lawrence was asked about the existence of the sequel and he confirmed it by stating that he has had assurances from producer Jerry Bruckheimer.
“I believe so,yes. I just talked to Jerry Bruckheimer yesterday and he said it’s real,” said Lawrence after being questioned about Bad Boys III, ” they’re working on the script, they’re getting close and it all looks good.”
Fans have been asking for a sequel to Bad Boys II for a long while now but questions lie in the realm of finance with Michael Bay and Will Smith both demanding obscene figures for involvement. One has to wonder where Will Smith stands in proceedings seeing as he is half of the boys in Bad Boys, but he has remained silent throughout.
The wheel seems to have started turning, however, if there is a script in the works and Lawrence is talking about it on chat shows, so it wouldn’t be too optimistic to get excited now. Further news will undoubtedly be anticipated by all fans of the first two films.
