Maybe the title for this piece is a little bit misleading! Nonetheless it is true. Director of Bad Teacher and the hit TV series New Girl, Jake Kasdan is said to be in deep talks with Sony and representatives of Jason Segel to helm their development of this brand new raunchy comedy!
Sex Tape is basically what is says on the tin. A mundane married couple living a boring existence decided to spice things up a bit by making their own sex tape. However, the inevitable happens and the sex tape goes missing (shock horror). The film basically sees Jason Segel and partner (not yet named) go around looking for their embarrassing video with a lot of cheap gags along the way.
The feature was originally said to cast Reece Witherspoon to play the role of Segel’s wife but this decision fell through earlier this year. At the moment, there is no word for who is to follow in Witherspoon’s invisible footsteps but if Kasdan commits to the project quickly, casting will sure be the next thing on his list. Do you think Reece Witherspoon would have been perfect for the role? Personally, I think should would have brought style and elegance to the slightly slimy narrative but what do you think?
