Jon Favreau’s upcoming film Chef and Alan Hicks’ documentary Keep On Keepin’ On were recently voted both films audience award winners at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival.
Prizes for the honor include $25,000 each for the filmmakers and an additional festival screening on the festival’s last day. Radius-TWC also picked up worldwide distribution rights to Hicks’ documentary. He also won the juried prize for new documentary director earlier in the week.
Keep On Keepin’ On chronicles jazz legend Clark Terry’s mentorship of a young blind piano prodigy, while Chef features Favreau as a hotshot chef who is forced to the road to open a food truck and reconnect with his son. The film also stars John Leguizamo, Sofia Vergara, Scarlett Johansson and Robert Downey Jr.
