Christopher Nolan‘s newest project, Interstellar, has released its first full trailer online.
The prolific director, producer and writer tends to use his gifts on superhero films or films with a science fiction tint in recent years, with the Dark Knight trilogy being slotted in between films such as Inception and The Prestige. His latest conquest however is full blown science fiction and it looks like it will be an absolute masterpiece.
Interstellar is the story of a group of explorers who journey through a newly discovered wormhole to surpass the limitations held on space travel, all while trying to find somewhere for the human race to set up camp while earth is slowly becoming less inhabitable.
The trailer shows jaw dropping and dizzying effects. It is easy to see that Stanley Kubrick‘s 2001: A Space Odyssey could have helped influence Nolan, with some shots looking like a subtle homage to the iconic sci-fi classic. It also gives more of an insight to the main character, played by academy award winner Matthew McConaughey.
Michael Caine teams up with Nolan for the sixth time in nine years, Caine is the main voice in the trailer, giving the information on Interstellar travel and its reason behind why humanity needs it to survive.
