The previous film set a new record for the most successful opening weekend ever achieved by a comedy film in the UK and given its critical response as well, a sequel was inevitable.
The creators of the TV show and original film, Iain Morris and Damon Beesley haven’t revealed a lot about the plot, but we can hazard a guess at what sort of antics the boys will get up to with James Buckley, Blake Harrison, Joe Thomas and Simon Bird all returning as the hapless foursome.
Morris and Beesley did release an official statement saying the following though – “We can’t say too much as we don’t want to spoil the jokes for you, but what we can exclusively reveal is there will be kangaroos. And Australians. And possibly koalas. Oh and obviously Jay, Will, Neil and Simon, providing they’re let into the country. Thanks so much for all your support, we’re hoping to deliver a film that you’ll enjoy even more than the last one“
Filming is set to begin on December 7th and the film has a tentative release date of August next year.
