Hugh Jackman has officially struck a deal to play the infamous pirate Blackbeard in Warner Bros origin story of the boy who never grew up, Pan.
Hot on the heels of the announcement that Garrett Hedlund will play Peter pans old adversary Captain Hook. The part for Blackbeard was offered to Javier Bardem, however Jackman is now known to have finalised the deal with Warner Bros after Javier turned the role down.
Jackman usually does not portray dark figures or villains, but his recent outing with Warner Bros in Prisoners showed that he can be a lot edgier and possibly unhinged as previously thought.
Pan is set for release on July 17, 2015.
