It has been a while since we have seen anything from House At The End Of The Street (or HATES as it has been cleverly abbreviated to!) However, with the DVD/Blu Ray release of The Hunger Games this Monday, what better time to release footage starring the beautiful and highly in demand Jennifer Lawrence in the new horror flick. Now don’t be fooled; this film has more to it than meets the eye; although the clip chosen is a little disappointing. But why not check it out for yourself!
The narrative sees Elissa (Lawrence), who moves to a small town with her mother Sarah (Elisabeth Shue) after a very messy divorce. However, the whole small town ideal hides a disastrous secret. In the house next door, a little girl murdered her parents and escaped into the woods never to be seen again. All that was left of the family was the brother Ryan (Max Thieriot) who ends up attracting Elissa’a eye. Despite all the “paranormal” goings on, Elissa gets close to Ryan and this ultimately leads to her downfall.
Now you may be thinking that this is just a generic haunted house feature; but HATES has been compared to the clever and under-estimated Cabin In The Woods, that achieved brilliant reviews after being slammed to start off with. We will just have to wait and see until the film’s spooky release on September 21st.
