Meryl Streep was all over every piece of media known to man and beast when she won the Oscar for Best Actress for her performance in The Iron Lady. Well now she is back in the limelight, with a less demanding and more comfy role in Hope Springs.
The film sees Streep’s character Maeve Soames and her husband Arnold played by Tommy Lee Jones in somewhat of a rut with their marriage. After celebrating 31 years of not so happy marital life, the couple believe it is time to do something about it. So encouraged by a self-help book written by Dr Bernie Field (Steve Carell), Maeve persuades Arnold to come along to one of Dr Field intensive one-week marriage counselling retreats. Full of gags and awkward old people intimacy, Hope Springs will grace our screens January 2013. But if you can’t wait until next year, why not check out the trailer below!
